MIHOLJČANKA, FIESTA AND FELICIJA - NEW VARIETIES OF WINTER WHEAT

Sažetak
ln year 1998 Ministry of agriculture and forestry of the Republic of Croatia adopt a suggestion of the Commission for varieties recognising and recognised Miholjčanka, Fiesta and Felicija as a new winter wheat varieties. In several years investigation all new cultivars have respectively higher kernel yield than standard variety Žitarka. All new varieties, especialy variety Miholjčanka, have respectively higher 1000 kernel weight than standard variety. The greatest differences between new winter wheat varieties and standard variety was in ear length. All new varieties have statistically very significantly longer ear then Žitarka. These varietes represents new "type" of wheat and they are sutable for the less intensive production (smaller amount of kernels/m², smaller amount of artificial fertilizers etc.).
