Sažetak
University Ranking is a well-placed tool used by students, university managers and policy makers. Now existing ranking systems compare universities by measuring academic and research work. Each ranking system claims to have a unique methodology that can measure the “quality” of a university. The value of system ranking is still not clear, though it is used in marketing. When they reach the global rankings, universities cannot avoid comparisons at national and international levels, leading to changes in the way they function. The annual result of any ranking should have a explained methodology, and ranking data should not be the basis for higher education policy decisions.
