Sažetak
ABSTRACT
Noncontact anterior cruciate ligament injury rates are
reported to be two to eight times higher in women than
in men within the same sport. Women’s susceptibility to
these injuries has stimulated a great deal of interest in:
explaining the noncontact mechanism of injury, establishing
risk factors and trying to reach a consensus on
prevention strategies. Increased knowledge of precise
mechanism of injury, biomechanical relationships,
strenght and flexibility issues, neuromuscular joint control,
proprioception and hormonal influences may lead
to the prevention of anterior cruciate ligament injuries
in both men and women.
