Sažetak

The aim of this study was to examine differences in acoustic voice parameters between individuals with organic and functional dysphonia using multidimensional acoustic voice analysis. The study included 70 adults diagnosed with voice disorders, comprising of 35 participants with organic dysphonia and 35 participants with functional dysphonia. Acoustic voice analysis was performed using the LingWAVES Voice Clinic Suite Pro, Version 3.2 system under standardized recording conditions. The following parameters were analyzed: fundamental frequency (F0), jitter, shimmer, maximum phonation time (MPT), and the Dysphonia Severity Index (DSI).
The results revealed statistically significant differences between the groups for jitter, shimmer, MPT, and DSI. Participants with organic dysphonia showed higher jitter and shimmer values, lower DSI scores, and shorter maximum phonation time compared to participants with functional dysphonia. The most pronounced difference was found for the DSI, which demonstrated the highest discriminative value between the groups. No statistically significant difference was found for fundamental frequency (F0).
The findings confirm that organic and functional dysphonia exhibit different acoustic patterns and support the usefulness of multidimensional acoustic voice analysis in the objective assessment of voice disorders. The DSI proved to be particularly valuable as an objective indicator of dysphonia severity and a potential tool in the differential diagnosis of voice disorders.
