Application of Roger's "non-directive" method to pastoral upbringing
Ante Mrvelj
Sažetak
First the author presents the genesis and purpose of Carl Ransom
Roger's theory on "one's own ego" or "self. Then he describes the
development and improvement of Roger's "non-directive" therapy
through the "client-centred" therapy up to the most recent stage called "the period of existentialists". In the end of the first part the author comes to the following conclusion: since Roger's method has a positive connotation on human personality, therefore called humanistic, and since it recognizes the person's capacity of selfdeciding, selfrealization as well as the person's freedom to take action, the method may be helpful if applied to the field of pastoral upbringing.
