Sažetak
The history of the School of Dental Medicine, the anniversary of which is being celebrated at present, can be divided into three periods of development, namely: the founding of an institution for dental medicine (1922- 1948), the establishment and activity of the Department of Odontology (1948- 1962), and the founding and subsequent rise of the School of Dental Medicine over four decades - from 1962 until present day. This paper presents a short review of the founding of certain departments at the School of Dental Medicine and the most prominent events related to promotion of their activities. The collaboration with KBC Sestre milosrdnice and KB Dubrava hospitals is emphasized and also the collaboration with the Medical School of University of Zagreb regarding basic medical science. Besides, some aspects of development and those concerning expansion and upgrading of facilities as well as the guidelines for future are discussed.
