Sažetak

Idealpolitik implies action in politics on the basis of certain norms and values, to which, in this case, holding a small, liberal-democratic states. Assuming that small European democratic countries may find it a bit of realpolitik projections of the paper follows the Danish and Belgian participation in UNPROFOR mission since 1992. to 1995. Analyzing the Belgian and Danish policy towards the United Nations, the disintegration of Yugoslavia and the decision on participation in peacekeeping forces and the behavior of the Danish and Belgian contingents in the field opposite the contingents from non-democratic countries, the paper attempts to answer the question whether the Danish and Belgian policies were guided by norms and values or other interests.
