The culture of assessment as a part of the organisational culture of Croatian libraries

Sažetak
Recently, Croatian libraries have been paying more attention to the activities connected with performance measurement in an attempt to improve the quality of their services. This paper defines the terms ‘organizational culture’ and ‘culture of assessment’, and, analyzing the selected results of the project Evaluation of library services: academic and public libraries questions if the culture of assessment is present in Croatian public and academic libraries. The paper also points out what should be accomplished in the future in order to turn the present library organizational culture into the culture of assessment, the end-goal of every member of the quality improvement processes.
