Izosan-G in disinfection of milking machines

Sažetak

Effect of Izosan-G (product of »Pliva* Zagreb) is tested in laboratory conditions using suspension and capacity testes in production conditions comparing the results of smear inspection taken before and after disinfection of milking machines. The results of investigation show that Izosan-G in concentration of 0.02 has a good bactericidal effect towards Streptococcus agalactia, S. dysgalactiae, S. uberis, S. aureus and Escherischia coli. Adding 2% and 4% of milk disinfection solution, the bactericidal effect of Izosan-G towards all tested bacteria is decreasing. Better disinfection effect of 0.02% Izosan-G solution applied on thoroughly washed surface decreased total colony counts of microorganisms from 94.5 to 99.88%. Applied on poorly washed surfaces disinfection effect of 0.02% Izosan-G solution was insufficient reducing colony counts to 59.4%.
