Protection of cereals from diseases

Sažetak

The protection of cereals from diseases should be based on the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The choice of strategy and model of applying preparations is in a direct correlation with specificity of pathogen, weather conditions for their development and phenophases of plant development. Considering the fact that ear, flag leaf and a leaf below flag leaf are the carriers of yield, it is necessary to keep their vitality as long as possible. The loss of green leaf area after the emergence of flag leaf affects the development of wheat grain and causes the decrease in its weight, which is directly reflected in yield and quality. While applying fungicides to cereals, the principles of FRAC should be respected in order to avoid the appearance of resistance toward certain active substances.
