Ecological fruit production – apple

Sažetak
Although in its beginning, ecological production of apples represents a great potential due to unpolluted nature and many characteristics of the varieties growing in our climate. Well- selected varieties should be used for planting, as well as those which are resistant to pests and diseases. Apple is the most important and most widespread fruit species in our country and the growing demand for ecological fruits should be taken into account in its growing. The most important factors in growing apples are the soil, climate, terrain position and agrotechnics. Before raising a plantation, one should have a project plan, prepare the soil, choose declared seedlings, then fertilize well and plant properly. A special attention should be paid to care, protection, harvesting and storing.
