Transformations of traditional religious identities

Sažetak

The text starts with two recent accounts in which the state of religious faith in Croatia is discussed. The first one is the result of research of religious faith conducted in Croatia within a comparative study of values in the European context. The second one is the result of an analitical approach of the phenomenon of sacred by the Croatian sociologist of religion Željko Mardešić.
The author attempts to analyze and critically examine the religious situation in Croatia through the frameworks of scholarly investigation of religious faith and the Mardešić's concept of the phenomenon of sacred, looking for spaces of dialogue of undertanding, in which certain starting points for further analytical consideration of that particular phenomenon could be renforced.
