Sažetak

Croatia has more than 16 newspapers today and several dozen relevant weekly,
half-monthly and monthly magazines. To sum up, there are about 750 different
publications in Croatia registered in the Croatian Chamber of Economy according to
the Record of issuing certificates in the Register.
The survey of the print media in the Croatian market shows that there is
increased number of publications, but a decreased number of press run of the daily
newspapers, and this trend seems to be a permanent process.
All of this only makes a market competition very fierce. In addition to this, the
distribution of the share in the advertising market is limited thus endangering the
existence of some newspapers or electronic media. Only TV stations and/or
newspapers that have succeeded in establishing themselves in the market and that have
gained priority among advertisers, readers and spectators (which is a trend in an overall
world journalism), will survive.
