Sažetak
This paper consists of two parts. The first part shows the basic postulates of philosophy of education and seeks to show how philosophy can contribute to the study of education. Philosophy of education is a philosophical discipline, toward which a lot of scientific skepticism is geared and because of it I believe this review is required. The second part of the paper will show an attempt to define education by two important philosophers of education in Croatia: Stjepan Matičević and Josip Marinković. First I will show the definition of education of each author, after which will follow the critical review of their definitions of education.
