Sažetak
»Illyricum sacrum« ist eine Retrospektive aus dem Jahr 1944 auf die krisenhafte Genese einer von Differenzen geprägten Kulturregion und zählt zu den weniger bekannten Texten von Miroslav Krleža; er wurde von der Literaturwissenschaft bislang nur marginal wahrgenommen. Dennoch lohnt es sich, diesen Essay einer eingehenden Lektüre zu unterziehen. Als Teil Zentraleuropas erweist sich ›Illyricum‹ gerade aufgrund seiner kulturellen Verflechtungen als ein Mikrokosmos des Makrokosmos dieser übergeordneten Region. Die komplexen dia- und synchronen sozial-kulturellen Prozesse, die diesen Mikrokosmos prägen, entsprechen aus der Sicht des aktuellen kulturwissenschaftlichen Diskurses permanenten Grenzerfahrungen, die u.a. kulturelle Hybriditäten oder Mehrdeutigkeiten zur Folge haben.
»Illyricum sacrum« (1944) is Miroslav Krleža’s retrospection on the genesis of a cultural region marked by difference and crises. Since it is one of Krleža’s less-known texts, it has so far received only marginal critical acclaim. Nevertheless, it is an essay worth of a thorough analysis. As a part of Central Europe and due precisely to its cultural heterogeneity, ›Illyricum‹ proves to function as a microcosm within the macrocosm of the superordinate region. In the context of contemporary cultural studies, complex diachronic and synchronic socio-cultural processes shaping this microcosm correspond to the notion of a permanent border experience, which results in cultural hybridism and ambiguity.
