Holstein-Primakoff representation of spin-operators and bound states

Abstract

The Holstein-Primakoff representation is tested on the problem of bound states of spin waves. It was shown that the result obtained by the use of this representation essentially differs from the corresponding ones obtained in Pauli representation of spin operator as well as in other boson representation of spin operators, such as Dyson's representation, Marumori's representation and the exact boson representation.
