Sažetak
The organization of business processes is one of the key segments for ensuring continuous business operations as well as for achieving and maintaining a company’s competitive advantage. Clearly and efficiently structured business processes contribute to increased productivity, cost reduction, and ultimately to an improved quality of life. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how the organization of business processes affects a company’s competitiveness and market positioning through an analysis of key segments of business processes in the overall functioning of an enterprise.
The research was conducted anonymously through an online questionnaire sent via email to companies selected by random sampling, based on the classification of micro, small, medium-sized, and large enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The questionnaire was sent to 110 companies, of which 58 responded, making the sample acceptable for analysis. The results showed that the organization of business processes represents an important source of competitive advantage, that digital tools/software are used for managing business processes, and that business processes are regularly analyzed and improved.
It is important to emphasize that business processes and the way business-oriented companies are organized play a significant role in achieving competitive advantage, as companies are able to adapt more quickly to market changes by leveraging the benefits of new technologies. In the context of business processes, new technologies are particularly important because they enable better organization and more efficient business operations. In the era of globalization and rapid technological development, in order to keep pace with intense market competition, companies must continuously improve the way they conduct their business activities in order to achieve and maintain a desired market position.
Efficient organization of business processes is an important strategic instrument that directly affects a company’s competitiveness and long-term development, as companies that actively analyze processes, monitor market trends, and develop new technologies have a greater chance of achieving long-term business success and creating a sustainable competitive advantage. The research results clearly show the importance of organizing business processes, and that only companies willing to embrace changes brought by new technologies can survive in the market and remain competitive.
