Cooperation with Parents in Preschool Institutions: Analysis of Certain Aspects

Sažetak
The cooperation between preschool educators and parents is one of the basic prerequisites of successful early and preschool education within institutional preschool education in Croatia. Consequently, the main aim of this paper is to attempt to give an insight into the present situation and to review all the possibilities of enhancing pedagogical and psychological work in the field of cooperation with parents and other child caretakers. Besides, the focus of this paper is directed to the specific problem of enhancement of pedagogical and
psychological work regarding the cooperation with parents of children with special needs (including both children with disabilities and gifted children).
First, all relevant expert and scientific research performed in this country with the aim of emphasizing this problem is reviewed. Also, all relevant data regarding the legislative regulation with all significant indicators in Croatia are presented. After the discussion, the guidelines for future research and expert work are defined which could provide more successful cooperation between preschool educators and families with the aim of better social integration of
their children. Finally, some suggestions for future research are given.
