Sažetak
Teacher stress is a globally recognized phenomenon associated with
difficulties in finding a job, health and retention of teachers, which are inherent to the
type of work, individual cognitive vulnerability and systemic factors. However, there
are gaps in our understanding of teacher stress, especially in terms of effective
interventions. NIOSH model of job stress explains the impact of stress on the health
of employees. The current research base is not adequate enough to provide effective
programs for reducing teacher stress. Studies have shown that teacher stress is
reliably associated with a number of variables, including those specific to the type of
work, individual cognitive vulnerability and systemic factors.
As a result, there is a need to introduce regular and effective forms of intervention
that would decrease the growing incidence of stress in the teaching profession.
