Sažetak
Specifi c learning diffi culties (dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia) become a serious problem when the child starts to go to school, although the disabilities occur much earlier. Their causes are not fully defi ned, and the fact is that they appear despite appropriate intelligence and appropriate sensory abilities and appropriate teaching. For children with specifi c learning diffi culties, reading, writing and calculating become hardly manageable, and sometimes insurmountable difficulties because of which children feel failure and fatigue, which slowly turns into frustration and dissatisfaction with school and with themselves. In connection with that, it is necessary for teachers to be competent enough to recognize the difficulties, to possess a basic knowledge and skills needed to work with such students. Such children, still, unfortunately, mostly spend their time in schools feeling an enormous gap between their potential and actual achievement, despite the fact that the term learning disability has been present in researches and in immediate educational work for a longer period of time.
