Sažetak
Generation Y, the so-called Millenian’s born in the eighties of the twentieth century are just coming to the labour market. They spent their formative teenage years in a post-war society in which social security was not only questioned, but completely destroyed as well. The internet and the third generation of the mobile-phone technology transform the way of the exchange of ideas and their creative contribution and the social and economic innovations benefit greatly from it. However, in many countries, SMEs work with outdated technology, low-skill human resources, weak management and entrepreneurial skills, unavailability of adequate and timely information, insufficient use of information technology, poor product quality, which altogether contribute to low productivity. The biggest challenge over the next two decades will be the establishment of methods and the creation of a model for the development of small and medium enterprises and promotion of entrepreneurial skills through structured training and institutional building programs. In this paper, emphasis is placed on identifying and developing entrepreneurial skills and careers of students of school age. It suggests how to systematically guide young people in shaping their own careers and future that will build the business world and may become the basis for creativity and innovation, nurseries of entrepreneurship and the engines of economic growth in their countries.
