Sažetak
The paper presents the results of laboratory tests set out in the annual reports of official laboratories authorized for testing of feed for the purposes of official controls in the Republic of Croatia in 2013. Out of 1.804 feed samples tested, 483 samples (26.77%) were non-compliant with the mandatory feed safety and quality parameters. On safety parameters, which include both chemical and microbiological parameters, 1.765 samples were analyzed, of which 481 samples (27.25%) were incompatible with mandatory parameters. On mycotoxins, as chemical parameters of safety, 1.358 samples were examined of which 476 samples (35.05%) were non-compliant due to the presence of aflatoxin B1 above the maximum permitted amount. The most frequent presence of aflatoxin B1 was found in corn and compound feed. Of the total of 663 corn samples, aflatoxin B1 above the maximum levels was have been identified in 262 samples (39.52%), while in the total of 479 compound feed samples increased amounts of aflatoxin B1 were determined in 214 samples (44.68%). A total of 5 samples (1.35%) were not with mandatory compliant microbiological feed safety parameters, most commonly due to the presence of Salmonella in compound feed. On the quality parameters, which include only chemical parameters, 39 samples were analysed. Only 2 samples (5.13%) were non-compliant with mandatory quality parameters. On the ash content only one compound feed sample was non-compliant, while another compound feed sample was non-compliant due to the ash and fat content.
