Sažetak

The authors will, in this paper, analyze the work of the inquiry commissions of the Croatian parliament. These commissions are founded for questions of public interest and have extremely broad powers in their work. The authors will especially review the work of here inquiry commissions founded between 2004 and 2009, in order to, ion their example, show the problems in the work of the inquiry commissions of the Croatian parliament. The authors will question the effectiveness of the control which can be implemented, over the Government and administration as a whole, by the inquiry commissions of the Croatian parliament. On the basis of the conducted analysis the authors will suggest certain changes in the legislative framework which prescribes the composition, jurisdiction, powers, principles of work and the way of work of the inquiry commissions of the Croatian parliament.
