The Teaching Content in the Context of the Development of the Pedagogical Thought

Abstract

In this paper we will examine the relation between teaching content and the development of educational theory and practice. The author is particularly interested in the experiences of teaching practice and theoretical knowledge that existed in the area of education, which were available and which could be used to clarify the role and function of teaching content. The central idea is that the teaching content represents the key link between internal, (psychological) process of students and external features of the teaching process, while the true meaning of education and the teaching content combines the common dealing of the specific content by students and teachers. After examining the pedagogical ideas of time in which their thoughts about upbringing, education, teaching and learning developed and expressed the famous pedagogues (Comenius, Humboldt, Herbart ...), as well as the established scientific orientations of educational science (spiritual, critical rationalist and critical constructivist) and didactic theoretical models for planning, organizing and conducting classes, it can be stated that there is a relevant system of pedagogical knowledge about the teaching content.
