Sažetak
This winter was very favorable for investigation of winter resistance of wheet varieties in field conditions. 54 italian varietes, 1 french, 1 japonese, 1 german and 12 new yugoslav varieties were tested in 4 trials, each 5 times repested. The damage of leaf area ranged from 8 to 86%, depending of variety. This damage occured in the 1-th decade of February, with no snow cover and no tog low minimum temperatures. Decade abs. minimum was - 11,5ᵒC and the decade mean minimum - 8,0ᵒC. The week before was much warmer. The scoring was made from February 17-th to March 2-th. During this period each number of trials was scoring 5 times. The results obtained with this method were in agreement with results obtained at same experimental field by counting the survival of plants in the spring. As a check served italian variety San Pastore, with an average of 180% leaf area damage. Significantly better from it was only the french variety Etoile de Choisy. Similar to San Pastore were the varieties: Funone, S-15, Produttore, Orpas 2, Leonardo Carme Jacommeti, Carme 23, Razza I. Bo. 904, Norin No. 10, Grells umberg, Velino and 7 new yugoslav varietes. All other varieties were, less Winter-resistant from San Pastore. Some of less resistant varieties showed in this spring high ability of recovering. The yields, in relation to the leaf area damaged by winter, were also discussed.
