Sažetak

The field tests in the cultivation of mais, suger beet, and winter wheat with rotary hoe, which has been carried out in the seasons 1964. and 1965. are proved, that rotary hoe does a very good job, breaking crust and killing weeds, without serious injury of plants. The quality of work depends on type of soil, working speed, depth of tillage, and on direction of wheels rotation. The mais can be cultivated at working speed up to 12 km/h and the depth about 6 cm, without serious destruction of plant (1,5-2%), only when the crop is not higher then 25 cm. The same is, with suger beet in five leaves stage of growth, and with winter wheat in the period of early spring harrowing. The crust breaking is more efficient at higher speeds, and deeper tillage. But, at the same speed and depth the crust ,breaking with rotary hoe will be more efficient if the soil is lighter. The best performance in killing weeds is achieved when they are in the earliest stage of growth (small seedlings). The better performances were obtained the higher speeds and deeper tillage were used. Great acreages whioh can be covered by rotary hoe per day, and its use as a good seedbed-finishing implement, make that tool even more important.
