Sažetak
Globalization, as the accelerated development of technology and changes in the society's attitudes towards gender equality has a direct impact on the development of business creativity and entrepreneurial potential, in the encouragement of women to launch independent business ventures and take control positions. Croatia is a country that is favorable for the development of women's entrepreneurship, but there are still many problems and obstacles that need to be addressed in order to increase the support of the institutions and the environment and to access financial resources easier.
The fact that women are more likely to decide on entrepreneurial activity within the non-productive activities not of the strategic interest of the European Union or of the Republic of Croatia has as a consequence the fact that a large number of women entrepreneurs are having difficulty in accessing the sources of funding, which will be analyzed on the example of the selected Dental medicine company by the entrepreneur Katarina Anić Zirdum DDM.
This paper explains the specifics of female entrepreneurship as a special form of entrepreneurial activity and gives a comparative analysis of the situation of female entrepreneurship in Croatia in relation to countries of the EU and the world.
The Strategy and Action Plan for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in the Republic of Croatia has been presented, as well as the role and examples of non-governmental organizations' actions to connect women entrepreneurs within a country and at a regional level. Finally, an analysis of the value of financial resources allocated by the governmental ministries of the Government of the Republic of Croatia for the purpose of developing women's entrepreneurship over the past period was carried out.
