Sažetak

There is a significant number of researches that examine correlation between school achievement and factors, which are believed to affect school success. Despite that, there is only a small amount of surveys about school achievement from students’ perspective, as they are main holders of this phenomenon. For that reason, we examine a school achievement from high school students’ perspective, which are particularly sensitive and risk population exposed to a number of factors, and they represent the potential scientific and economic development of certain countries.
Starting from the different types of high schools, this paper presents the results of research, whose aim was to examine the relation of grammar school students, four-year and three-year vocational school students towards school achievement. The survey was conducted on a sample of 186 students from nine high schools of various types. In order to achieve aim, we examined how students determine school achievement, how important it is for them, how they rank factors that affect the improvement and decrease in school achievement, who encourages them to achieve school success and how they achieve school success. The results showed that although all students estimated school achievement important, there are statistically significant differences in relation to school achievement with regard to the type of high school, which students attend.
