Sažetak

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) and its use have caused changes in the educational process. Distance learning systems are created with the aim of supplementing the traditional way of teaching with e-learning. However, in order to maintain the educational process in a virtual environment, it is necessary to organize and present the knowledge. The primary bearers of knowledge in electronic learning are learning objects. Through the introduction of the (IEEE) LOM metadata scheme paper aims to present the benefits and disadvantages of metadata scheme and role of libraries in education.

Abstract

Razvoj informacijsko-komunikacijske tehnologije (IKT) i njena raznolika primjena uvjetovala je promjene i u obrazovnom procesu. Sve je učestalija pojava sistema za učenje na daljinu s ciljem da se tradicionalni način realiziranja nastave dopuni elektronskim učenjem. No da bi se obrazovni proces odvijao u virtualnom okruženju, neophodno je adekvatno organizirati i prezentirati znanje. Osnovni nositelji znanja u elektronskom učenju jesu objekti učenja. Kroz predstavljanje (IEEE) LOM sheme metapodataka, rad nastoji da pokaže prednosti i nedostatke shema, ukaže na postojanje derivata shema metapodataka i aplikacijskih profila te naglasi važnost i ulogu bibliotečke profesije u obrazovanju 21. stoljeća.
