Sažetak

The paper discusses the modern form of migration on the example ‎of the Republic of Croatia, and refers to the migration of highly‎ educated population for employment purposes. Respondents are final‎ year graduate students. The research was conducted in 2018 on the‎ sample of 1041 students. The aim was to find out how many respondents ‎intend to stay in the country and work, and how many respondents ‎intend to leave the country and get a job abroad. A further goal‎ was to find out what respondents see as the reason for the difficulty ‎of finding a job on the Croatian labor market and whether they feel ‎ready for the Croatian labor market. Ultimately, the aim was to find‎ out the competence profile of the respondents who intend to leave ‎the country, as well as the competence profile of the respondents who ‎intend to stay in the country. A survey questionnaire was selected for‎ the primary data collection method. The obtained results and answers ‎to the research questions are the result of the respondents’ beliefs and‎ their own judgment in the conducted research. The analysis of the ‎conducted research shows that the respondents are largely considered‎ competent and that only 11% of the respondents are considered unprepared‎ for the Croatian labour market. The research shows that the‎ majority of respondents (72%) want to stay in Croatia.‎
