Sažetak
The paper discusses the modern form of migration on the example of the Republic of Croatia, and refers to the migration of highly educated population for employment purposes. Respondents are final year graduate students. The research was conducted in 2018 on the sample of 1041 students. The aim was to find out how many respondents intend to stay in the country and work, and how many respondents intend to leave the country and get a job abroad. A further goal was to find out what respondents see as the reason for the difficulty of finding a job on the Croatian labor market and whether they feel ready for the Croatian labor market. Ultimately, the aim was to find out the competence profile of the respondents who intend to leave the country, as well as the competence profile of the respondents who intend to stay in the country. A survey questionnaire was selected for the primary data collection method. The obtained results and answers to the research questions are the result of the respondents’ beliefs and their own judgment in the conducted research. The analysis of the conducted research shows that the respondents are largely considered competent and that only 11% of the respondents are considered unprepared for the Croatian labour market. The research shows that the majority of respondents (72%) want to stay in Croatia.
