Sažetak
Alojzije (Vjekoslav) Hegedić, a priest and supporter of the Party of Rights, was actively involved in politics after arriving in Karlovac in 1886. He also became a spiritual assistant in the parish of Dubovac. In the elections for the Croatian Parliament in 1887, he clearly revealed his political views, as he openly campaigned on behalf of the candidate of the Party of Rights in Karlovac. In 1888 he became the parish priest in the parish of Dubovac, and in 1891 he was elected to the Karlovac City Assembly. In the elections for the Croatian Parliament in 1897, Hegedić was a candidate on the list of the United Opposition, and he was elected in the Kloštar constituency in Podravina. The author analyzes Hegedić's activities in the Croatian Parliament during the period when Károly Khuen- Héderváry was the ban from Croatia, during which Hegedić persistently advocated Ante Starčević's ideas in discussions on relevant political, economic and cultural issues in Banal Croatia (Banska Hrvatska).
