Civil law aspect of the impact of electronic publications, digital and social media on sport

Sažetak
In the paper the author presents the concept of media, legally parses the concepts of electronic
publications, the Internet, digital and social media, and analyzes their increasing influence on sports
and its development. In the continuation the author briefly explains the concept of personal rights
in sports, with a review of the right to privacy of athletes and the right of athletes to their own
image. The central part of the paper is dedicated to the analysis of civil liability for violations of the
personality rights of athletes in electronic publications, on Internet and social media. In conclusion,
the author offers de lege ferenda proposals so that the existing legal regulations of this area can be
improved.
