Sažetak
Tobacco whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius, 1889) first invaded the region of Trogir - Omiš in 2000. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Croatia was informed on this quarantine insect pest finding. Thirteen host plants were recorded. The main part of the pest biological cycle occurred on poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) in glasshouses. Its presence was also confirmed in gardens and private plots in the period July - October. The paper gives detailed morphological description, biological and ecological characteristics, distribution and damage descriptions.
