VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION OF THE MOSQUITOES (DIPT. CULICIDAE) IN THE MOUNTAIN OF PAPUK.

Sažetak
In the period from April to October 1989 and 1990. 1930 specimens (1905 adults and 125 larvae) have been caught. 12 species of mosquitoes has been identifies: Anopheles maculipennis, A. plumbeus, Culiseta annulata, Mansonia richiardii, Aedes pulchritarsis, A. cantans, A. communis, A. sticticus, A. vexans, A. geniculatus, A. cinereus and Culex pipiens complex. Among the mentioned species Aedes pulchritarsis Rondani, 1872 is noted for the first time in Slavonia. The vertical distribution has been researched on four sites: Feričanci (125 m), Orahovačko jezero (230 m), Jankovac (475 m) i Prijevoj (728 m). The number of mosquitoes as well as the number of species decrease as the height increases. The greatest similarity is between sites which are closer to each other and smaller between sites, which is shown by coefficient of similarity after Sörensen. The species of Aaedes vexans, A. geniculatus, Culex pipiens k. and Anopheles plumbeus were noted in all sites and they are not important for vertical distribution, although Aedes communis and Mansonia richiardii were found only at one site and they are important for vertical distribution.
