Sažetak
The aim of the paper - is to analyse the income in the global music industry in the context of the share of income from dubbing and copyright. Methodology – the work is based on the analysis of financial data on the income of individual categories of the music industry. The fundamental research is directed towards the analysis of income from streaming, copyright and synchronization, i. e. the income of the new media industry that arises as a result of technological progress in the production and distribution of media content. Research results - indicate a very small share as well as the impact of income from dubbing and copyright on the total income of the music industry, while income from streaming has become the dominant income of the music industry. At the same time, the digital transformation of business has had a significant impact on the decline in income from physical audio carriers, which is the result of the development of technology as well as the change in user habits. Conclusion - the digital transformation of the music industry made it possible to generate income from new forms of commoditization of music content. Despite the generally accepted narrative of digital transformation, which would shift the focus of revenue towards copyright and similar forms of commoditization of rights, most of the revenue comes from streaming, while revenue from the sale of physical audio carriers is still the second largest revenue of the music industry.
