ECONOMIC EFFICACY OF MILKING COW BREEDING ON ISTRIA SAMPLE

Sažetak
Cattle breeding is one of the main production on family farms in Croatia. Above all, this production is unstably and number of cow is rending during last few decades. Because of that it is necessary to establish such production units which will insure good economic result, by their size, technology and production.
The purpose of this paper was to compare incomes between the farms with different number of milking cows. Things that were analysed technological and economical characteristics of existing condition and possibility of improving economy by increasing the number of cows, improving nourishment and keeping conditions.
In this research was applied the opinion poll method for analysed the existing conditions. It was developed the balance account of expense which ensure the conditions of economic indicator of production.
The results show that by keeping 8 milking cows with better technology, such as keeping 30 or 50 milking cows, will achieve the bigger income and labour production. By keeping 50 milking cows it is achieved income of 59 kn/hour which is similar to average income of farming in EU.
