Sažetak

The research approach in science subjects allows students to develop research skills, encourages their desire to learn, and also stimulates an interest in science. Students approach problem solving independently and develop new ideas and solutions. They actively participate in all research processes, from setting work objectives to formulating the research question to collecting results and drawing conclusions. This type of learning, often in the form of extracurricular lessons, also helps them to more easily assimilate the teaching content and complex thematic units, learn about the natural environment, develop ecological awareness and find their way in nature. By using active teaching, it is easier for the teacher to relate the teaching content of biology to the content of other science subjects, which contributes to a better understanding of what is learned. In this paper, a study of turbellarian anatomy, morphology, and ecology with emphasis on their regenerative ability is proposed to help students understand the process of regeneration of damaged body parts and the use of turbellarians as a model in various researches. The content of this paper will be useful for primary and secondary school teachers. Through independent experiential and research learning, the use of cooperative learning methods, or the selection of project learning, outcomes within the macro concept of science can be creatively achieved in conjunction with other learning outcomes.
