Sažetak
The process in IC engine with no common exchange of combustion by heat delivery has been analyzed in the paper. By applying the first and the second law of thermodynamics the values of indicated pressure during the combustion process depending on dynamics of fuel combustion, i. e. crank angle, have been calculated.
Besides indicated pressure, the method applied in the paper enables also the calculation of all other thermodynamic values during the process in the engine cylinder including the enthropia change because of unbalanced combustion as well. The chosen example of the engine and the process in its connection is not particularly representative because the content of the paper has been worked out and it has been in demonstration at thermodynamic calculation method.
The paper is based on theses by Jelić [1] and simplification analysed in this paper refer to neglecting of dissociation of molecules during combustion, but with an open possibility to be taken into consideration. Geometric engine values and working parameters from [2] with the use of octane C8H18 as fuel have been adopted, so it is calculated with incomplete burning in an ample mixture. Examining the combustion process it ranges from compound 1 which presents a 100% mixture of fuel and air in a standard state. The process itself is divided into 13 compounds presenting various mixture of products and reactants from already mentioned compound 1 to compound 13, which contains combustion products 100% of fuel burned.
Unlike standard thermodynamic process analysis in IC engines, the first and the second law for unbalanced processes have been used here to obtain essentially complete and accurate insight into the process.
