Abstract

The modern way of living and working, globalization, computerization, competition and other development trends require teachers to adapt to new conditions. Teachers today are expected to bring about changes in their own teaching environment in the future. One of the possible approaches to introducing changes in one's own pedagogical activity with the aim of improvement is to look at and research one's own work. In pedagogical practice, action research is the most appropriate form of research. Action research can help us to improve the quality of our work. This article presents the results of action research conducted at Marija Jurić Zagorka Primary School using the example of teaching Technical Culture. The research used a questionnaire to examine the attitudes of seventh grade students towards the Technical Culture subject, the importance of technical drawing, learning habits and toward technical culture teachers. The aim of the research was to determine the reasons and factors that cause seventh grade students to receive lower than expected grades in technical drawing. The ultimate aim of the research was to advance and improve the quality of their own teaching practice. The knowledge gained could help introduce technical culture teachers to action research and give them the opportunity to implement this type of research in their own practice.
