Abstract
The organizational structure of each company is partly a result of the current situation in the environment. It also reflects previous patterns, changes in internal circumstances, managerial assessment about hierarchical relationships and the principles by which tasks are assigned. In this sense, compared to the rigid traditional Waterfall, the Agile methodology allows a differentiated way of managing projects and organizational processes. Due to its principles of iterativeness, flexibility and team approach, it is particularly frequently applied in software development. This paper analyzes the reasons for abandoning the Waterfall approach and the effects of the newly implemented Agile work methodology on key performance indicators and employee satisfaction in the Austrian IT company Native- Waves. The processes of implementation of Agile principles in work organization and the
methods of focus groups are described in particular. The implementation of Agile methodology has allowed a more flexible way of working. With this, NativeWaves better responded to the challenges of a dynamic environment, more clearly defined individual responsibility, improved communication between organizational units, and built a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. At the same time, according to the new organizational structure, the role of the Product Manager (PM) is extremely important, since it involves identifying and prioritizing development topics, clearly setting requirements for the team,
facilitating the work of focus groups and ensuring continous communication and compliance of all team members. PM ensures agile, efficient and market-relevant development of software solutions and products. The transition to the Agile way of working resulted in significant improvements in the organization of work, the quality of delivered products and the satisfaction of all stakeholders. The time required to develop new ideas was shortened by 50 %, productivity increased by 30 %, the number of reported bugs decreased by 65 % and by 32 % increased employee satisfaction.
