Sažetak

The paper discusses some preliminary results of the project aimed at the translation of the Kyiv Synopsis (1680) into the Polish language and the scholarly edition of the original text. The publication of this historical record, which played a significant role in the formation of the early modern Ukrainian national identity, is of utmost importance today. In this paper, we analyze features of the Ukrainian recension of Church Slavonic as used in this record, we consider the problems of publishing a text in the Series Ceranea and others. The first ever publication of this record together with its Polish translation will shed new light onto the sources of the formation of the Ukrainian national identity as well as enrich Polish studies dealing with the history of the Polish- Lithuanian Commonwealth.
