GEOGRAPHY IN ITS COMPLEXITY. INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN HONOUR OF THE WORK OF PROF. VELJKO ROGIĆ (1925 – 2017) ON THE OCCASION OF THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS BIRTH

Abstract
In the mountain village of Krasno (Mt. Velebit), from 18th to 19th September 2025, an international scientific conference was held entitled Geography in its Complexity. An international conference in honour of the work of Prof. Veljko Rogić (1925-2017) on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth. The conference was organised by the Department of Geography of the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb and the Croatian Geographical Society of Zagreb. On the first day of the conference, 18th September 2025, scholars gave presentations and presented the results of their scientific and research work from various fields of science. In the introductory part of the programme, a series of lectures valorised the scientific and professional work of Professor Veljko Rogić and highlighted his outstanding contribution to the development of modern Croatian geography. On the second day, 19th September 2025, an educational trip to the Northern Velebit National Park was organised for the conference participants. On the third day, 20th September 2025, in an optional part of the programme, a geological workshop was held for students of the Vjenceslav Novak Regional School in Sveti Juraj, and a collection of Velebit rocks that was donated to the school was presented.
