Summary Inventory of the Fonds People’s Committee of the Municipality of Labin 1955–1963

Sažetak
The People’s Committee of the Labin Municipality operated from 1955 to 1963 as a local government body. It inherited its jurisdiction from the People’s Committee of the Labin Urban Municipality. After its dissolution, its jurisdiction was transferred to the newly established Labin Municipal Assembly. The People’s Committee of the Labin Municipality passed regulations, considered issues and took necessary measures in the field of economic, communal and social development and life of the Municipality. It consisted of two councils: the Municipal Council (41 councillors) and the Producers’ Council (31 councillors). It carried out its tasks through separate and joint sessions of both Councils; executive and administrative tasks through an advisory council, and administrative tasks through its administrative bodies. Once the creator’s work ceased, the archival material was deposited in the archives office of the Labin Municipal Assembly and was later received by the State Archives in Pazin (then the Historical Archives of Pazin) on several occasions in 1974, 1975 and 1976, together with the records of the related fonds of the Labin Municipal Assembly, while part of the material was delivered subsequently, in 2017, by the Labin National Museum of the Labin Open University. The archival material was arranged in the period from February 2021 to February 2022, when a summary inventory was made. The structure of the fonds was formed in accordance with the content-thematic units under the Order on the Plan of Unique Archival Signs for all Administrative Bodies on the Territory of the People’s Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette 7/58) issued in 1958, adapting the units to the type and subject matter of the documents. The fonds thus consists of the following main series: »Auxiliary office books«, »General matters«, »Labour and employment«, »Internal affairs«, »Economy«, »Finance«, »Health and social protection«, »Education and culture«, »Judiciary« and »National defence«. The fonds contains a wealth of documents that provide a valuable overall view of the socio-historical circumstances from the period of the creator’s activity.
