Sažetak

In contemporary social and academic discussions – particularly within the context of the Anthropocene-Capitalocene dyad – there is an increasing call to restore a harmonious relationship between humans and nature, or, as Shaun Monson would put it, among all Earthlings. In this context, ecofeminism stands out as a philosophical and activist movement that links the struggle for women’s rights with the fight to preserve the natural environment. On the other hand, Friedrich Max Müller, one of the most important philologists and scholars of religion in the 19th century, emphasized in his analyses of myths – known as the mythology of nature – the ancient, spiritual relationship between humans and the natural world. Although these are two different theoretical traditions – one modern and political, the other academic and historical (philological) – significant similarities can be observed between them, particularly in their understanding of nature, symbolism and spirituality.
