A CONTRIBUTION TO THE HISTORY OF MODERN DARUVAR JOURNALISM – MEMORIES OF A JOURNALIST

Abstract
The author describes experience as a local journalist from his start as a professional journalist covering the period of the collapse of a state and political system and the creation of a new state as a war reporter in the first half of the 1990s in his hometown in Croatia and the wider region of Western Slavonia. In addition to reporting from the front lines, the article also includes a description of political turmoil. The author’s war reports, enriched with photographs by Toni Hnojčik, have been cited in books and scholarly works on the subject as authentic, sometimes the only testimonies from that time in that area.
