Sažetak
The aim of the paper is to investigate into contents about copyright and authorship in Croatian language textbooks. The specific research question is whether students are taught about the concepts of authorship, authors, and their rights during Croatian language school instruction. As no research has been conducted on the addressed topic, nor are there any published works about it, the analysis is conceived to encompass two potentially interesting aspects: the curriculum (which indicates views of education policy makers) and basic teaching materials. Using the content analysis method, the curriculum and complete set of Croatian language textbooks (from 5th to 8th grade) were analysed. The research results indicate numerous mentions of authorship in the consulted sets. The paper is innovative both in terms of the research question and the conducted research. Limitations arise from the lack of published works on the topic, which made conception of the research more difficult and equally prevented the interpretation of research results in a comparative perspective.
