Sažetak
The monastery of the Franciscan Tertiaries at Glavotok became an oasis of spirituality and culture for the entire surrounding region, while its cloister and the area in front of the church served as places of joyful gathering and encounter for people from nearby communities. It is a monastery of Glagolitic friars. Over many centuries, the vernacular language, the Church Slavonic language, and the Glagolitic script were cultivated there, as evidenced by numerous Glagolitic inscriptions and a wealth of preserved Glagolitic manuscripts. Many people learned to read and write in the monastery. Fr. Dragutin A. Parčić did not hesitate to establish a small printing press in the monastery, which he named Seraphic Press. Many distinguished Franciscan Tertiaries are associated with Glavotok, among them Matej Bošnjak, Hijacint Buić, Šimun Klimantović, Šimun Glavić, Antun, Danijel, Franjo Depope, Hijacint Milohnić, Dragutin A. Parčić, Stjepan M. Ivančić, Danijel Zec, and many others. The atmosphere of spirituality and prayer in the monastery attracted and inspired, throughout its long history, many young men from the surrounding villages to pursue a religious vocation, and many became priest-friars. This is evident from their surnames - Bajčić, Brzac, Brusić, Buić, Depope, Hrabrić, Jurasić, Linardić, Milohnić, Mršić, Prendivoj, Rušin, Zacco, Zec, Žgaljić, and numerous others - some of whom left a deep mark on spiritual life and cultural activity. Although they did not have their own parish, the Franciscan Tertiaries from Glavotok consistently assisted in pastoral ministry, provided support, and willingly substituted for other priests whenever possible, remaining close to the people at all times. Their presence was and remains clearly recognizable.
