Urban Planning Criteria for the Improvement of Unplanned Settlements in Croatia

Abstract
The research examines negative phenomena and numerous dysfunctions of the micro and macro enviroment generated by unplanned settlements. Based on an analysis of four unplanned settlements in Zagreb, Split, Rijeka and Osijek and one planned settlement with unplanned parts in Zadar, it defines urban planning criteria that lead to planning measures for improving morfological and functional urbanity of unplanned settlements in large cities in Croatia.
