Sažetak

This paper presents current research on the application of music therapy in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH) and Croatia through a consolidated review of three published studies within the doctoral program in Culture and Arts at the Doctoral School Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. The studies focus on socio-cultural context of music therapy as a discipline in BH and Croatia, addressing three interconnected aspects: the application of singing in music therapy activities; the application of copyright law to compositions created during the music therapy process; and overview of music therapy models and methods through the lens of phenomenology of the body and art. By employing comparative and analytical research methods, this paper highlights diverse approaches to integrating singing into music therapy, examines legal reflection on copyright within the therapeutic process and the most prominent music therapy models and methods within the framework of the phenomenology of body and art. This work represents a further step toward validating a multidisciplinary approach to music therapy by linking art, phenomenology and the legal profession. As such, it may serve as an incentive for further related research while contributing to its primary purpose: increasing the accessibility and regulation of music therapy as a discipline and healthcare service in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
