Abstract

The work is directed towards the analysis of the phenomenon of moral dilemma, its basic characteristics and place in the structure of moral action. At the very beginning, we point out that moral dilemmas do not only refer to a single act of moral choice (on the occasion of a specific situation), but in different ways permeate other segments of the moral phenomenon (choice of moral values, deciding between the understanding of good and evil, considering moral responsibility and guilt, interpretation and determination according to a whole series of social phenomena and situations, the way of acting and the “quality” of conscience). Below, we highlight the importance of critical thinking for the point of view of morality, as well as the importance of moral dilemmas for the process of emancipation, including its educational aspect. At the end of the paper, we consider the moral dilemmas that exist in the sphere of political and economic action.
